Things I have been thinking about lately.

“When men wish to construct or support a theory, how they torture facts into their service!”
—John Mackay, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds , 1852

The failure to teach the presence of absolutes and truth in our schools is what is primarily responsible for the education disaster that nearly everyone now sees or forecasts for the near future.... If a philosophy and worldview once produced generations of young people who could read, write, and think while resisting, for the most part, the temptation to engage in anti-social and personally corrupting behavior, why doesn't it make sense to return to that philosophy and reject the one that has brought us crack cocaine in the school yard and drive-by shootings at the playground? -- Cal Thomas
