Maybe this will illustrate it.

Current mood: bitchy Category: Travel and Places

People who know me well, will have heard my lamentations about dealing with a certain ex-hiking/camping companion. This should not be confused with Jeff; he was actually a quite pleasant hiking/camping companion.

No, I am talking about possibly the most annoying human on the face of the earth. I am talking about the person who made me consider ditching a trip to my favorite destination in West Texas just to escape the possibility of being in the same car with him for 11 hours.

He didn't go and I did.

I am "reading" an audiobook currently-- A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson

So far, I don't really like it. But, whatever. A portion of the book, when Bryson is describing a person they met on the trail, hit home. The person they met (Mary Ellen) reminded me of that annoying person I know.

Perhaps, if you listen to this five minute clip, you can get a concentrated dose of what it is like enduring time with this guy. (The clip is actually quite humorous)

And then you too can better understand why I avoid the near occasions of him.
