I figured it out...

I was telling Ed the other day that I seemed happier living in the apartment as opposed to the house. There was something about the abundance of east facing windows and the morning sun, and the closeness to pool and a treadmill that was accessible daily. I went to the park more, I liked that side of town more..... closer to STUFF and no traffic. I walked the dog and got out and about more.
But I wanted to be living in a house more than anything. I hate paying rent. It's like throwing money down a rat hole -- you get nothing from it in the end other than protection from the elements and a place to store your crap.
But I think I figured something out. The apartment was more entertaining. There was always something going on. Voices, a pool to go sit near, a gym to go to. Something to DO.
Here at the house, it is really quiet. There are no voices, the windows don't get a lot of morning sun. I don't go to the park very often and hitting traffic on our main drag in town is the only way out of the neighborhood. Ed is now 50 minutes away, not 35 as before.
But this weekend was different.... better.
There were voices, there was something to do and people to share it with.

I think that is what is missing.
